Forensic analytical chemistry. Applications of analytical chemistry to forensic science , expecially to trace evidence analysis. Forensic microspectroscopy for textile fiber and fiber dye analysis.

Capillary GC and GC/MS. Capillary gas chromatography: methods development, sampling methods, rapid chromatographic analysis; applications of gas chromatography/mass spectrometry

Liquid chromatography (LC). Methods development in high performance liquid chromatography.

Analytical pyrolysis. Analytical pyrolysis coupled to gas chromatography and mass spectrometry for rapid characterization of biological and synthetic macromolecules.

Analytical microbiology. Applications of analytical chemistry to biological and microbiological systems; identiication of chemical markers for microorganisms and their use for chemotaxonomy and trace detection

Experimental design/optimization. Chemometrics: Statistics, experimental design, and optimization for development and validation of analytical chemical methods

Multivariate statistics. Chemometrics: Pattern recognition for interpretation of chemical data from chromatographic and spectroscopic sources
